Use only supplied descriptions to select what answers one question and identify unread-content uncertainty.

What you’re working towards

Use only supplied descriptions to select what answers one question and identify unread-content uncertainty. The worked result is a written example for practice; the AI steps have not been tested.

Make a start

One step at a time.

3 steps

Start with the synthetic worked example or other non-sensitive inputs. Run one prompt at a time in your chosen AI tool. Replace any bracketed placeholders with the requested material, check each reply, and supply the source or earlier outputs that step needs. Paste them again if the tool lacks that context.

Start with the synthetic example, then adapt each prompt to your task.

01

Open a chat and paste the example

Open https://chatgpt.com and choose New chat. Copy every line under Input in this guide into the message box. Then add the prompt below (the instructions telling the assistant what to do) and send both together. Expect a written response shaped like the example under Output. The wording may differ. If the assistant asks for information already in the input, point to that line; if a necessary fact is missing, keep it unknown rather than guessing.

Your starting prompt
Triage the five saved-page descriptions above for the stated question and 12-minute reading budget. Give a short ordered queue, later items, unrelated items and items needing a description. Say explicitly that you have not inspected the articles. Do not invent article takeaways.
02

Check the specific result

The selected L1 and L3 estimates add to 10 minutes. Including L5 would total 13. Check that L4 remains uncertain and that no article contents are reported as read. Compare it with the Input yourself. If the response fails a check, paste the correction prompt below into the same chat. Recheck the corrected version before saving it.

Your starting prompt
Recheck the queue using only the supplied titles, notes and minute estimates. Remove invented article claims. Confirm the selected total and keep L4 in a description-needed category.
03

Try it with your own example

Open a new chat. Copy the prompt below, then replace [PASTE YOUR INPUT HERE] with your own non-sensitive facts and rules. Include the kinds of details listed under Requirements. Send the whole message. Expect the same kind of result as this guide, using your values. Compare every name, number and rule with your input. If something differs, point to the exact mismatch and ask for a corrected complete answer. Save only a version you have checked.

Your starting prompt
Use only my saved-page descriptions, question and reading-time budget below. Give an ordered reading queue within the budget, later items, unrelated items and items needing a description. Keep the supplied reading-time estimates visible. Say you have not inspected the articles. Do not invent article takeaways.

Use only the new input below. If a fact needed to finish is missing, ask me for it before choosing an answer.

MY INPUT
[PASTE YOUR INPUT HERE]
Optional: improve the result

Turn the queue into a comparison note

After you actually read the pages, paste your own brief notes and ask for a comparison tied to those notes. This extension uses the worked example. Return to that example chat, or paste its input and your checked example answer into a new chat first. Do not apply its sample values unchanged to your own input.

Advanced prompt
Give me a blank reading-note template for L1 and L3 with three fields: Useful idea stated by this source; Exact supporting excerpt or my clearly labelled paraphrase; What I would try. Do not fill it with guessed contents.
Show, then try

See the shape of the result.

This input is synthetic. The output is a written illustration of the intended result, not a verified AI-tool run.

The starting point

Synthetic input
Made-up example for practice.

Made-up saved-page list; page contents have not been opened. Question: How can I keep a small balcony sketching kit easy to carry? Desired reading time: at most 12 minutes, using the supplied estimates. L1 “Carry Less”: owner’s note says it lists five-item sketch kits; estimated 4-minute read. L2 “History of Pigments”: note says it explains nineteenth-century pigment production; 8 minutes. L3 “A Pocket Kit Tour”: note says it compares two artists’ pouch layouts; 6 minutes. L4 “Studio Desk Build”: no description; 10 minutes. L5 “Paper on a Breezy Balcony”: note says it discusses keeping loose sketch paper together outdoors; 3 minutes. Use descriptions only; do not claim article findings or verified content.

Copies text only. For image or file tasks, use the source files named in the steps too.

The intended result

Illustrative output
Written example for practice; not a recorded AI response.

Proposed reading queue, 10 minutes
1. L1 Carry Less, 4 minutes: its supplied description directly addresses a small kit.
2. L3 A Pocket Kit Tour, 6 minutes: pouch layouts may help with carrying the kit.
Later if needed
L5 Paper on a Breezy Balcony, 3 minutes: relevant to paper handling, but adding it would make the selected queue 13 minutes, above the 12-minute limit.
Set aside for this question
L2 History of Pigments: the supplied description does not address carrying a kit.
Description needed
L4 Studio Desk Build: relevance cannot be established from the title alone.
These are reading choices based on notes, not summaries of the pages.

You’re the final check

Check the worked example.

These checks use the worked example and its particular facts. With your own material, check your actual names, numbers, sources and rules; do not reuse the sample’s values as the answer.

Unsaved checks stay in this tab and reset when you reload. If you choose Save guide, its current example checkmarks are kept in this browser when storage is available.

A few things to watch for.

  • A title is not a reliable summary. Keep undescribed sources uncertain.
  • Reading estimates are estimates from the input, not a measured promise.

What has been checked?

Documentation
No dated source review recorded.
Included files
No scoped artifact-check record.
AI workflow
Not run in a recorded consumer-AI workflow.
