Download the editable SVG mark

A self-contained vector mark for the synthetic Stillfold starter kit.

Not tool-tested. Review and adapt before using it for a real project.

Make a start

One step at a time.

5 steps

Start with the synthetic worked example or other non-sensitive inputs. Run one prompt at a time in your chosen AI tool. Replace any bracketed placeholders with the requested material, check each reply, and supply the source or earlier outputs that step needs. Paste them again if the tool lacks that context.

Set up the worked example

Open

Open a new text-AI chat, a plain-text editor and a browser. SVG is editable drawing text that a browser can display. Download stillfold-mark.svg as an unchanged reference; make your own draft under a fresh name. You do not need an image-generation feature or a design account. If you cannot save and view SVG files, you can draft the source and rules, but appearance checks stay pending.

Add the sample

In step 1 replace [paste brief] with all of ‘The starting point’ (Synthetic input), from SYNTHETIC BRIEF through ‘launch date has been supplied.’ Send each step in the same chat and check the reply before continuing. Steps 2 and 3 use that checked direction. After step 3 save your new SVG and guide, then reopen both before step 4: replace [paste both] with their complete saved contents, clearly labeled SVG and GUIDE. Step 5 uses the corrected versions. ‘The intended result’ (Illustrative output) and the download are reference examples; do not paste them as if they were your new work.

Start with the synthetic example, then adapt each prompt to your task.

01

Turn the brief into a small design contract

Paste the synthetic brief to practice, or replace it with your own non-sensitive brief. Agree on one use case before requesting artwork.

Your starting prompt
Using the brief below, extract audience, offer, tone, required assets and prohibited claims. Propose one identity direction in five sentences. Preserve every unknown. For Stillfold, use a quiet one-color notebook motif and avoid environmental, luxury and productivity promises.

BRIEF:
[paste brief]
Expect

A short brief and one proposed direction for the fictional Stillfold notebook studio.

Check

It keeps adult working-note users, a quiet one-color notebook motif and clear, warm wording. Prices, certifications and a launch date remain unknown; luxury, environmental and productivity promises are excluded.

If it differs

If it invents a fact or gives several directions, point to the brief and ask for one corrected direction. Check it before asking for the mark.

02

Generate an original vector mark

Ask for actual SVG source rather than a picture of a logo. Keep the mark simple enough to inspect and edit.

Your starting prompt
Create an original 96×96 SVG notebook icon for the approved direction. Include xmlns, a square viewBox, title and description. Use only paths and basic shapes with #173A35 strokes. No scripts, external links, embedded images, font files or borrowed brand shapes. Return complete SVG source and explain its geometry. Do not claim the name or design is legally cleared.
Expect

Complete SVG source from <svg to </svg>, with a title, description and an explanation of the shapes.

Check

The square viewBox is 0 0 96 96, strokes use #173A35, and the source contains no script, external link, image or font file. It may differ from the example mark; source inspection does not prove its appearance or originality in commerce.

If it differs

If it returns only a picture or a fragment, ask for the complete editable SVG. Remove active or external content before opening it. If you cannot inspect the source, keep this as an unreviewed draft.

03

Make the rules specific

Set sizes, colors, spacing and examples so that a second person can reproduce the visual treatment.

Your starting prompt
Write a one-page starter guide using Ink #173A35, Paper #FAF6ED and decorative-only Ochre #BE7837. Specify a system font, heading and body sizes, 8px spacing, clear space, minimum mark size, a horizontal lockup, reverse and one-color variants. Include an about line and sample label using only facts in the brief.
Expect

One consistent set of color, type, spacing, mark-size and copy rules. Save only the complete SVG as my-brand-mark.svg and the guide as my-brand-guide.txt in a new folder, keeping the downloads unchanged.

Check

Ink #173A35 and Paper #FAF6ED are the text pair; Ochre #BE7837 is decorative only. Rules name a system font, 8px spacing, clear space, minimum size and reverse/one-color variants. A lockup means the mark and name arranged together.

If it differs

If rules conflict, ask for one corrected guide tied to the actual mark. Use plain UTF-8 text, which preserves symbols and accented letters; leave out chat code-fence lines and commentary. Check the SVG filename is not .svg.txt.

04

Open the source at real sizes

Save the plain-text source with a .svg extension. Open it in your browser and inspect 32px, 48px and 96px versions; source validity alone does not establish legibility.

Your starting prompt
Review this SVG source for external dependencies, scripts, clipped strokes, missing viewBox, invalid elements and unnecessary detail. Return corrections and a manual checklist for previewing it at 32px, 48px and 96px. Separately flag any unverified brand or product claims in the guide.

SVG AND GUIDE:
[paste both]
Expect

A review of your reopened saved SVG and guide, plus a separate checklist for viewing the mark at 32, 48 and 96 pixels square.

Check

Open the saved SVG in the browser. Use an SVG-capable viewer’s explicit size controls for the three sizes, if available; ordinary browser zoom does not prove pixel size. Inspect the folded corner, strokes and surrounding space. Reading source is separate from actually viewing those sizes and measuring contrast.

If it differs

If a size control is unavailable, record those size checks as pending. For clipping or unclear detail, describe what you saw, request corrected complete source, save a new revision and reopen it before repeating the affected checks. Do not call a name or mark commercially cleared.

05

Package one direction for review

Keep one approved mark and one guide together. Do not call it a full production identity or publish it automatically.

Your starting prompt
Assemble the final starter kit: positioning sentence, exact palette, typography, spacing, copy examples, complete SVG and usage rules. Add a remaining-review list covering small-size appearance, contrast and independent name/mark checks. Label the kit illustrative and identify which checks actually ran versus which remain.
Expect

A complete starter kit containing the chosen SVG, rules, sample copy and remaining checks. Save the final versions under new revision names and reopen them to confirm they match the checked kit.

Check

The final palette, size rules and wording agree. The kit distinguishes source review, your actual visual checks and unperformed contrast or name/mark reviews. No launch, trademark ownership or tested design-tool workflow is claimed.

If it differs

If the final assembly changes the SVG or rules, repeat the affected step 4 checks on the saved revision. Keep public use pending while necessary name/mark and appearance reviews are unresolved.

Optional: improve the result

Derive a tiny reusable design system

Carry the identity into a local sample page and printable label without adding new colors or an external font. Compare the results at actual size.

Advanced prompt
Using only this starter kit, produce CSS variables and two static layout specifications: a product information card and a 90×50mm label. Map every color, font size and spacing choice to the guide. Supply an audit listing any new token you believe is necessary, with the reason, instead of silently adding one. Keep product facts synthetic and preserve the commercial-clearance disclaimer.

KIT:
[paste kit]
Optional: use your own input

Make a starter kit from your own brief

Use a non-sensitive brief and references you own or have permission to use. Start a fresh chat and fill the prompt below. After checking its one direction, send these messages in order, checking each reply:
“Create one original, simple SVG mark for my checked direction. Return complete self-contained source with xmlns, square viewBox, title and description, and explain the geometry. Use my approved color; if none is supplied, propose one for review. No scripts, links, embedded images, external fonts or borrowed brand shapes. Do not claim commercial clearance.”
“Write one concise guide tied to that mark: exact colors and text/background pairings, system font, sizes, spacing, clear space, minimum size, mark/name arrangement and reverse/one-color variants. Label untested design choices and use only my approved facts in copy. Return the complete guide.”
Save only the SVG source as my-brand-mark.svg and the guide as my-brand-guide.txt, in plain UTF-8 text and separate from any reference. Reopen both saved files before continuing.
“Review the saved SVG and guide below for unsupported claims, conflicting rules, external resources and clipped or over-detailed geometry. Return corrections plus a manual viewing checklist at my intended sizes. Do not claim to see a rendered image from source alone. SAVED SVG AND GUIDE: [paste both complete saved files].”
Open the saved SVG in a browser or SVG viewer. Inspect it at explicit intended sizes if the viewer supports that, and record only the checks you actually performed. Save and reopen any correction, then repeat the affected checks.
“Assemble my checked mark and rules into one starter kit. Include the full SVG, exact palette, typography, spacing, usage rules, copy and remaining review list. Separate actual checks from pending appearance, contrast and name/mark checks. MY CHECK RESULTS: [paste what you actually checked and what remains].”
Save the final kit under fresh names and check that assembly has not changed the reviewed files. If saving or viewing is unavailable, stop at a source draft with pending visual checks. Your brief replaces the sample brand’s facts and colors. The original advanced prompt is sample-scoped until adapted to your own checked kit and intended dimensions; nothing here authorizes publication.

Your own-input prompt
Help me draft one starter brand kit from my brief. First extract the audience, actual offer, tone, required assets, intended display sizes and places, approved facts, prohibited claims and unknowns. Propose one direction and wait for my review before artwork. Keep facts separate from design proposals. Do not invent prices, certifications, outcomes or clearance of a name or mark. Later we will draft editable SVG, usage rules and copy, then save and inspect the files. Do not publish, upload references elsewhere or change accounts.

MY BRIEF
[Paste the name, audience, offer, tone, assets needed, intended uses/sizes, approved colors if any, and facts/claims to exclude. Mark missing information unknown.]

PERMITTED REFERENCES
[Describe only references you may use, or say none. Do not ask to copy another brand.]

Check your own result

  • All claims come from your brief; chosen design rules and unresolved facts are clearly separated.
  • Your saved SVG is self-contained and separate from originals. The final guide describes that exact mark and palette.
  • Actual-size appearance and text/background contrast remain pending unless you performed the relevant checks.
  • A starter identity and name suggestion do not establish commercial clearance or authorize a public launch.

The starting point

Synthetic input
SYNTHETIC BRIEF
Brand name: Stillfold. This is a fictional notebook studio, not a researched or cleared trading name.
Offer: plain, uncoated-paper notebooks for adults who keep everyday working notes.
Audience: independent makers who want their desk materials to feel quiet and practical.
Tone: clear, warm, understated. Avoid luxury, environmental or productivity claims.
Needed now: an icon, a consistent heading treatment, two main colors, one optional accent and a short about line.
Constraints: one-color mark must work on a pale background; no photographs, gradients, external fonts or borrowed artwork. No product price, materials certification or launch date has been supplied.

Copies text only. For image or file tasks, use the source files named in the steps too.

The intended result

Illustrative output
STILLFOLD / STARTER KIT v0.1
Illustrative design, not a cleared commercial identity. No consumer design-tool workflow was executed.

POSITION
Quiet notebooks for everyday working notes.
About line: Stillfold makes plain notebooks for the notes that help you work things out.
Button label: Explore the notebooks. This is sample copy, not a live link.
Voice: short, concrete sentences. Say “Room for your working notes.” Do not say “Guaranteed to transform your productivity.”

COLOR
Ink #173A35: mark, headings, body text and solid buttons.
Paper #FAF6ED: default page and label background.
Ochre #BE7837: small decorative lines only. Do not use it for small text or as the sole indicator of a state.
Button pairing: Paper text on Ink. Main text pairing: Ink on Paper. Check contrast again if colors change.

TYPE AND SPACING
Use the local system sans-serif family: system-ui, sans-serif. No font download is needed.
Brand name: “Stillfold”, 28px, weight 700, normal letter spacing; never all caps.
Page heading: 36px/1.15, weight 700. Body: 16px/1.5, weight 400. Reduce the heading to 28px on small screens.
Use spacing in 8px increments. Keep body copy left aligned and paragraphs short.

MARK RULES
The editable SVG below is the primary one-color mark. Save it as stillfold-mark.svg.
Maintain its square viewBox and aspect ratio. The graphic has a built-in 9-unit minimum edge margin including strokes. Keep an additional 12 units of empty space outside its square when placing it beside other content.
Recommended minimum display size: 32×32px; inspect at the actual size before release. Below 32px, use the text name instead.
Lockup: place the 48×48px mark left of “Stillfold”, with a 12px gap and vertical center alignment. The wordmark remains live system-font text.
Reverse variant: change both stroke colors to #FAF6ED and place on #173A35. Single-color print variant: change both stroke colors to #000000 on white.
Do not stretch, rotate, add shadows, crop the folded corner or put the mark on a busy image.

REVIEW BEFORE PUBLIC USE
Inspect small-size legibility, check actual text/background pairings, and independently review the name and mark for confusing similarity. This kit does not establish trademark ownership.

You’re the final check

Check the worked example.

These checks use the worked example and its particular facts. With your own material, check your actual names, numbers, sources and rules; do not reuse the sample’s values as the answer.

Unsaved checks stay in this tab and reset when you reload. If you choose Save guide, its current example checkmarks are kept in this browser when storage is available.

A few things to watch for.

  • Accepting a rendered logo image when you need editable, scalable source.
  • Calling a plausible name legally cleared, or treating a polished mockup as evidence of a real business.
  • Using an accent color for small text without checking the actual pairing.
